The Cincinnati Police Department, Cincinnati H.O.G. chapter, and the Regulators National Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club will honor fallen officers, including Sonny Kim, as well as first responders at this Final, Annual, Sonny Kim Fallen Officers Memorial Ride, Saturday, May 20th, 2023.

Riders will arrive at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Montgomery Road sometime between 12:45pm and 1:30pm for a memorial service in Gate of Heaven section 14, Joyful Mysteries, where Officer Kim is interred. All are welcome to attend the gathering at Gate of Heaven and park in other sections of the cemetery where the lanes are not blocked to be a part of the memorial service for Officer Kim and other fallen officers. After, the memorial service ends, the riders will then ride back to CinCity Harley-Davidson.

“As a law enforcement officer, I think it’s important that we support each other and have the civilians come out and support us,” Co-President, Regulators Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club Duyane Ernst said. The organizers started this event in 2016, a year after Officer Kim was shot and killed while responding to the reports of a man with a gun in Madisonville.

Kim, a husband and a father of three children, was also an officer for the Cincinnati Police Department for over 25 years. Proceeds will be donated to the Lighthouse Youth and Family Services, Ohio COPS in Distress, and The Shield. Over $100,000 has been raised since 2016.
