Memorial Day Flag Placement

On Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, volunteers will begin posting U.S. flags at the ground burial gravesites of veterans.

The flags will remain on the graves until volunteers respectfully remove them after 12:00pm on Sunday, June 2.

More volunteers are needed for both the placing and removal of the flags. Please email community@gateofheavencemetery.org to share your availability to volunteer.

If your family member interred at Gate of Heaven was a veteran, and volunteers did not post a flag at their marker, you are welcome to come into our lobby and take a flag to post.

REMINDER: Because of the thousands of flags posted on the grounds throughout the cemetery for Memorial Day, the grounds will not be mowed the week of May 27. Therefore, any décor you place after May 21 can stay on the gravesite until sunset, Monday, June 3.
