This special event is designed to help families explore the beauty of Catholic burial traditions and experience firsthand the spiritual, historical, and pastoral care we provide.

Mini-Seminars to Inspire and Inform
Throughout the weekend, we are honored to host a series of mini-seminars presented by experts and partners in the field of end-of-life planning and care. Topics include:
Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and Estate Planning – Presented by Andy Larken of Rebold, Larken & Murray Law Firm (Saturday – 10:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.)
Pre-Planning with Peace of Mind – Presented by Gate of Heaven Cemetery Family Service Advisors (Saturday at 1:30 p.m. | Sunday at 11:00 a.m.)
Understanding Hospice – Presented by Veronica Sterling, Southwest Hospice (Saturday at 2:15 p.m. | Sunday at 11:45 a.m.)
Catholic Teachings on End-of-Life Care – Presented by Fr. Eric Wood, Moral Theologian, Mt. Saint Mary’s Seminary (Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.)
Each seminar is held in a chapel in Gate of Heaven administration building.
Tour of the Trees
Saturday at 3:15 p.m. | Sunday at 3:15 p.m. – The Tour of the Trees is a guided tour through the beautiful, tree-lined grounds of Gate of Heaven Cemetery. This special tour highlights section one and two of the cemetery showcasing the diverse and majestic trees that grace our sacred spaces. Learn about the natural history, spiritual significance, and seasonal beauty of the landscape that surrounds our loved ones in eternal rest. Tours lead by arborist, Barb DeNamur.
Legacy Tours: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives
Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. | Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. – Throughout the day, take part in one of our Legacy Tours, you’ll hear remarkable stories of ordinary people whose lives left an extraordinary legacy—children, parents, veterans, community builders, and faithful stewards whose lives were woven into the fabric of our Catholic community. Tours lead by Gate of Heaven personnel.
