Memorial Day Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery

Let us join together in prayer in God’s name, on His sacred grounds in memory of all of our loved ones that have passed and to honor all of those who served our country and lost their lives in the military of our United States of America, on this Memorial Day.

Gate of Heaven Cemetery’s Annual Memorial Day Field Mass is the morning of Monday, May 31st, 2021. Please come join us!

***This is a special day to Remember and Honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. We begin this gathering starting at 10:30AM in the Bishops and Priests Circle with a Military Speaker and Honor Guards.***

***We are continuing the tradition for this 2021 Memorial Day Mass with Archbishop Schnurr at our Bishops and Priests Circle for the mass and to honor those buried on this sacred ground.
The mass begins at 11:00AM.***

Be a part of this spiritual and memorable day!

***Please know that it is important to arrive at 10:00AM, before honoring our U.S. military at 10:30AM.***

We have transportation vehicle arranged from parking areas to our circle for those in need.

Please remember to bring your folding chairs!

(Note: In case of rain storms the mass will be moved to Good Shepherd Parish at 8815 East Kemper Road.)

God of power and mercy,
you destroy war and put down earthly pride.
Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears,
that we may all deserve to be called your sons
      and daughters.
Keep in your mercy those men and women
who have died in the cause of freedom
and bring them safely
into your kingdom of justice and peace.
We ask this though Jesus Christ our Lord.
