REMEMBER ~ HONOR ~ TEACH

On Saturday, December 16th, 2023 as many individuals, families, friends, ministries, volunteers and veterans gather together to remember, honor and teach within many cities of every state of our USA, and also in other international locations, we will join together at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Veterans Garden to share our respect, gratitude and prayers for all of the men and women away from their families this Christmas while serving our country. We will also share our gratitude and prayers while remembering all of those who have served our USA in past and those that have served our USA and lost their lives in battle for our freedom and to protect our nation.

WREATHS ACROSS AMMERICA’S MISSION:
Remember ~ Honor ~ Teach

In all, WAA strive to fulfill one or more core values:

  • Remember the fallen.
  • Honor those who serve and their families.
  • Teach the next generations about the value of freedom.

The WAA Theme for this 2023 is: Serve and Succeed ~ “There are many ways to serve your community and country, and just as many definitions of success. We hope through focusing on those stories of success we will help change the dialogue around what it means to serve your country.” ~ Karen Worcester, Executive Director, Wreaths Across America #ServeAndSucceed

Wreath Across America carries out these values in part by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies each December at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 4,100 participating locations in all 50 US states and beyond, and by organizing a week of events that include international veteran’s tributes, ceremonies at State Houses and a week-long “Veteran’s Parade” between Maine and Virginia.

As a non-profit organization that receives no government funding, WAA continually recruits and work closely with thousands of volunteers, like Gate of Heaven Cemetery for a location and to have ceremony; to remember, honor and teach the community.

The cost of the wreaths at each location in the USA, and abroad, are paid by individual and family wreath sponsors that purchase one or more to donate, corporate donors, and volunteer truckers. ALL of these wreaths are purchased directly through Wreaths Across America.

Throughout the year, WAA coordinates veteran services and recognition through a variety of programs and provide schools with teaching aides for projects.

Join us this December 16th at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249 in our Section 28 Veterans Garden to start our Ceremony at 12:05PM (after the bell tower completes it’s noon chimes), to RESPECT, HONOR, TEACH and PRAY together.  So, many get caught up in the holidays, their busy schedules, all of their social events and forget about how blessed we are in this nation and why we have the freedom that we have.
