Section 1

Gate of Heaven Cemetery was opened in 1947 as the first Archdiocesan Cemetery in Cincinnati. Section One is the place of the first interment. Named after the mystery of the Assumption of Mary, like Mary we are given the promise of life eternal with her Son, Jesus.

A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun,  with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
