Guardian Angel
The Catholic tradition beautifully affirms the presence and ministry of guardian angels, a testament to God’s loving care for each of us. In the church’s tradition we honor angels with major feasts, including a special celebration for guardian angels, inviting us to deepen our connection with these heavenly protectors. The Catechism of the Catholic Church -336 beautifully expresses this truth, teaching that “from infancy to death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life.” Gate of Heaven Cemetery reverently embraces the richness of the Catholic faith and her sacred teachings by naming our resting places after the profound mysteries of our faith. Among these, the Guardian Angels hold a cherished place, reflecting the Church’s deep trust in their heavenly care and intercession.
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day, be at my side, to light and guard, rule and guide. Amen.
